Upholstery velvet is a dense, heavier-pile fabric for furniture and furnishing. Shailesh Velvet Industries manufactures it under the Kedarnath Velvet brand — a Mumbai upholstery velvet fabric manufacturer with about 40 years in the trade — in cotton, polyester and viscose at roughly 54–58 inch width. The close pile and firm ground suit daily use. Buyers include sofa and furniture makers, upholstery workshops, and interior and furnishing brands.
Construction and Specifications
The pile is woven upright from a firm ground and cut to give an even, plain-dyed surface. Cotton gives a matte hand, polyester adds durability and easy care, and viscose a higher sheen; blends balance look, strength and cost. Weights are medium to heavy, and selected qualities are embossed.

Used for sofas, chairs, ottomans, headboards, curtains and cushions. Minimums are negotiable and samples are sent before bulk. Custom and matched shades are developed on adequate quantities. Is this velvet suitable for heavy-use furniture?
Yes. It is woven with a denser pile and firmer ground than dress velvet, for regular seating use. Request cuttings so your lab can confirm abrasion and colourfastness before bulk.
What is the minimum order, and can I get samples?
Minimums are negotiable and depend on colour and construction. We send a swatch card or sample length first, so you can check hand, shade and width before placing a bulk order.
Do you export?
Yes. We ship overseas as well as within India, arranging export documentation and packing. Share your destination and quantity, and we will advise on lead time, packing and freight terms.
Can you match a specific shade?
Yes, on adequate quantities. We dye in-house and can develop custom or matched shades from your reference and hold them across repeat orders. Selected qualities can also be embossed.
